Hammill House

| August 3, 2012

Hammill House, the new Ancaster Minor Sports Centre, is located at the corner of Wilson and Church Street in Ancaster. Originally constructed in the 1840’s as a cottage, its owner, Richard Hammill, was a village grocer and butcher.

In the words of Councillor Lloyd Ferguson, “I am also pleased that we are adding to the line-up of recreational facilities a new sports registration office at the Hammill House at Church and Wilson Streets. This building has been vacant for years and will be renovated using Federal Brownfield funds. With thousands of youngsters involved in minor sports in our community, this new club house is a slam dunk for parents chasing all over to register their sons and daughters in various programs.”

The new renovations to this designated building under the Ontario Heritage Act was completed in July 2011 and our four Ancaster Sports Associations were pleased to move into the building.

You are invited to visit us in our new home and have a look around.
